Supporting local communities through education, fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.
We support the social and economic development of our local communities through education, volunteering, fundraising and sponsorship opportunities. Supporting our employees to participate in community activities is a core business value that benefits everyone involved.
Supporting local charities and good causes is an important part of our responsible business strategy. As a global company, we take pride in our local approach, supporting the communities where we work and live. Our employees participate in a huge amount of community and fundraising activities throughout the year and Innospec is proud to support them. In 2022, our total social value and community contribution was US$695,000.

PenFed Foundation Military Heroes fund, USA
Our Fuel Specialties and Oilfield Business teams in the US are proud to be long term supporters of the PenFed Foundation Military Heroes fund. In 2022, we held our annual Fuel Specialties and Oilfield Services charity golf tournaments, in aid of the organization. The total raised by both golfing events was just over US$315,000. This brings the total raised since we started our annual charity golf tournaments in 2007 to US$1.8 million.
Inspiring the next generation
Raising awareness of careers in the sciences and industry is an important part of our responsibility to the next generation. Many of our employees spend time engaging with schools and educational centers, providing support and advice.
At Ellesmere Port, UK, we held two separate school visit days for Helsby High School. Enthusiastic pupils aged between 14 and 15 enjoyed making shampoos and shower gels in a professional chemistry lab, after which many left inspired by the role of a chemist.
In 2022, we were pleased to hold community open days once again at some of our sites following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in recent years. In Leuna, Germany, we held two successful community open days for local residents and interested groups, where approximately 60 people joined a plant tour.
Business contributions to charity in 2022
Our Fuel Specialties business makes a donation to Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald e.V (SDW), the German Association for the Protection of Forests and Woodlands for every liter of ecotherm® futur sold. Donations made for 2022 sales bring the total raised since the partnership began in 2008 to over €369,000. The donation will be used to support SDW’s work in forest conservation, protection and replanting projects and to support their free forest education programs for schools and communities.
